Hey, it’s in the bible!

The only problem with this cartoon is that the anti gay christians believe gay people *choose* to be gay – god didn’t make them that way. Gay people use their free will to engage in homosexual behavior against the wishes of a god who only created straight people.

Even those few who will allow that maybe people are born gay will then claim that it is still their choice to engage in homosexual behavior, if they really wanted to they could choose not to engage in such behavior and so commit no sin.

That thinking allows them to simply dismiss the point you’re trying to get across.

  2. trev

Well what about the fact that homosexuality is observed throughout many different species in the animal kingdom? Do the animals choose to be gay?

  3. JackXD

I think something changed in the world. Maybe pollution, maybe a work of an unknown force changed the way people and animals think. Something made a different turn in our minds. Maybe because we destroyed so much nature, maybe something wants that the world ends so it can begin anew, and it started by pairing up same sexes and stopping reproduction. Maybe God can’t change big things, but small which then grow into big things.
It’s just my personal opinion though. Probably wrong. Who knows?

  4. cubicghost

Engaging in homosexual sex is a choice.
Just like remaining abstinent or waiting until marriage.

Three choices I have chosen not to make!

  5. trev

@JackXD It seems like it would be more effective at this point to just let overpopulation wipe the human race out than to try and turn everyone into a homosexual.

  6. JackXD

LOL, yeah that is a better way. I think.

Oh, and, how does one choose to like men/women over women/men?

You enjoy poking fun at Christian beliefs, don’t you?

  8. underpantsjail

I enjoy poking fun at everything! This one just happens to be Christians and Jews.

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I think the list of “things that are worthy of death” there at the end of that passage from Paul’s letter to the Romans pretty much covers the entire human race. Also, isn’t it a bit hypocritical of Paul to say these people should die? What with the whole, “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone” thing.

      • jondoe2003

There’s a difference between being worthy of it and condemning them to it. He isn’t saying to kill them.

        • Justin

That is true, I retract that last statement!

  10. JackXD

After centuries and centuries of prosecuting and killing those that are different, live different, think differently, I think that the time of acceptance has finally arrived.
Although some still think the same way, maybe even the majority, it will change.
No law can stop a person from doing what he thinks is right, doing something out of lust or hate, doing something out of love or fear, doing something good or evil.
But evil is defined by us, our morals. One does not need a book or religion for guidance- Let yourself see what’s right and what’s wrong, even if you don’t like it.
Let others live the lives they want, for who are you to deny their freedom?
If there is a final judgment, let it pass the sentence or reward, let it decide.
Respect others and they will respect you- or they may not, it doesn’t matter. If they don’t, they are the bad ones, not you. They made their choice. And so must you.
Will you live a life hating others for being different? Or will you accept them and be at peace?
At least, if you don’t like those who are different, remove yourself from them and don’t think about them. But help them if they need help, for they are also humans, as fragile as anyone else. Their blood is red and is not poisonous, they do not spread some disease, they breathe, and live, and dream the same as you do, only of different things.
No human being is the same as the other, just as there are no two identical snowflakes.
I’m not saying don’t believe in God. I’m saying that it doesn’t matter. If there is a God, he would be proud to see you doing good to others and to yourself. Setting your soul at peace is as important as helping another person, for how is one to help another, if he can’t help himself?
With this I close this thought. Many of you won’t agree with me; I do not care. I only hope it changes someones way of looking at the world.

    • Justin

      Well said Jack!
Your message is similar to that of Jesus’ in the New Testament. Be kind to your neighbor regardless of differences and respect your fellow man no matter what. It’s not for you to judge, but God alone.
Even though I’m an athiest/agnostic I can respect this message (Also, I’m testing out the new reply feature).

      • JackXD

Good thinking with the new system!

  11. nonya

“the anti gay christians believe gay people *choose* to be gay”

That’s about as bad a generalization about those Christians as the one of which you accuse them. Do you think hypocrisy is a virtue?
